Depending on the size of the firm, the survey may take one to three days. A registered auditor reviews existing documentation, evaluating procedures and work instructions for adequacy and shop floor implementation. The analysis highlights nonconformance issues and provides an outline of the work required to meet the requirements of the Standard. An opening meeting for those participating in the audit is conducted prior to the start of the analysis. Ground rules are established, and the scope of the project is explained. A closing meeting is held at the conclusion of the analysis to present the audit findings. A written report of the auditor’s findings is provided to management.
