Process Verified Program
A Briefing
The Agricultural Marketing Service Division of the United States
Department of Agriculture (USDA-AMS) has introduced the Process
Verified Program (PVP). This program is based on the International
Organization for Standardization's ISO 9000:2000 quality management
standard with a specific goal of enhancing the competitive position
of the livestock industry.
This AMS program relies on comprehensive process and procedure
documentation to assess quality management processes including
traceability Applicants successfully meeting the AMS requirements
are awarded Process Verified Accreditation. In order to continue
accreditation status, participants must maintain documentation
and undergo rigorous USDA-AMS annual audits of their system.

tool.
